"Between Life and Death"
A journey of lives told through the process
of sketches to finished paintings
I have always seen a parallel between an individual’s life and that of a work of art. One’s life is heavily influenced by the decisions that are made. It is the same in art, from inception to completion the work of art is a sum of the artist’s choices.
It is influenced by the conscious and subconscious just like one’s life. If the process of creating art is life itself then the completed work is the death or completion of that work of art. In my process the concept or journey starts with a drawing.
I have always enjoyed seeing the sketches and drawings of my favorite artist. It has given me a better understanding of the artist and their work. The drawings themselves often rough are works of art unto themselves.
For this show I have compiled some paintings and some of the drawings that go with them, in order to reveal my creative process. By exposing the process maybe I can better express
myself with the finished product, thus blurring the line Between Life and Death.

The MOTIVATIONAL Teens Exhibit
Teens come together through art to raise money for non-profit organizations.
The Teen Motivational Art Exhibit is to help build self-esteem for at-risk youth and young adults under 21 years of age. We ask all participating artists to donate part of the proceeds to a non-profit, charity, or after school program of their choice.
Support our youth and help a great cause!
Exhibit dates: June 1st - August 20th.
